Maybe this belongs in one of the tools forums, but I was wondering if any of you guys had any sort of suggestion for managing todos or calendars as a family. My wife and I are getting busier and busier between my freelance design consulting and her jewelry advisor job, and its only a matter of time before our daughter gets her own schedule, too. (She's 13 months, so about all she has going on now is climbing all over Daddy and squealing at the cat.)

Anyway, are there perhaps any web-based applications you've found successful for managing stuff on the go? Sure, I know the best thing is to sit down with each other and go over what all is going on, but sometimes you just can't do that.

What do you suggest?

We use Google Calendar and share our calendars among the family.  if you have a family 'domain' you can also set up Google Apps and have a shared calendar instance that way.  It is cheap and easy!

Maybe that's what we need. Thanks, Shane.

For what it is worth, we use MobileMe (yes I know it is expensive but I got some freebies here in Australia) and obviously just use it to share calendars etc.  My wife's copywriting, my advisory and investment banking and my boys school and soccer schedules.  A bit clunky with subscriptions and I think that I will probably set up a mac mini server and try to run a home server with a caldav server.  Otherwise, we try to have a family weekly Sunday evening meeting to scope out the week.  We make sure that every ical entry has a Google map if needed already url'ed.  We also try to rescope the week on Wednesday evening if possible.

What I am really hanging for though is an ipad or two to just have around in the kitchen and parts of hte house for those impromptu sitreps.  Right now our iphone/blackberry work ok.
