When I put something in the pocket I move it to the front of the folder, so slowly the unused files move to the back.

I currently file alphabetically (because it seems like the organised thing to do) but some of my most frequently used files are near the back. I think I'll try replacing each used file at the front. Sounds like it could be a lot more efficient.

My filing concept is quite simple:
* One file from A to L and one from M to Z for everything
* one folder for each current project that needs paper
* one folder for memories (A to Z as well)

I have to admit, that I don't run any own business or something like that, so maybe my system is a bit too simple for you.

@Shane: Scanning everything sounds quite cool. I realized that I like processing my paper inbox much less, than the digital one. Maybe scanning everything really might help.

But I also have a lot of handwritten notes and hints in there, what should I do with them?

Scan them, too - and make sure you give the file a descriptive name. I only use ProjectNameNotes#.pdf because I rarely have more than five pages of scattered notes for a particular project, but you could use a more specific naming convention.

If you have lots of handwritten notes that belong to many different projects, I'd look into a better way altogether to capture that information. For example, you could make a wiki of your favorite keyboard shortcuts or tips and put it on your Tickler to review it every three months.

The thing is, they're not really big sketches and stuff. They're more like small pieces of paper with some words on them that are put in my paper inbox, when a thought comes up.
