Thinking about the bigger picture:

    * What do I have to do today to be prepared for tomorrow?
    * What can I delegate? and when is it due back?
    * Why was it so difficult/time-consuming to manage the tasks that derailed my day?
    * How can I improve my processes to prevent this from happening again?

What are your thoughts on this?

While it's frustrating to the "intellectual" side to seemingly be "derailed" by the emotional side, it's not always such a bad thing when that happens. Sometimes your emotional side needs to be engaged, too! You can't be all intellectual all the time. That said, you have to exercise discipline if you find yourself getting off track often, and I your checklist looks like a good way to keep that in check. Good post. (I'm behind on my posting, too. I may try to post something at lunchtime.)
