Today I shared a little bit about how I've put the "working the dash" concept to work. The idea is that you beat procrastination by setting a very short deadline for banging out some tiny projects, and you come away very satisfied. I'm interested to see how it's worked for you. What have you done to work the dash? How was it for you?

It's great concept, especially if you are goal-oriented. I use a similar technique for household chores: I'll watch a show that I like in the afternoon, but during the the commercial breaks, I wash dishes, clean the bathroom, or whatever. I'm always impressed with how much I get done.

I do the same thing with commercials during the evening. Of course it is a little easier now that we have cable DVR, because we can stop for any reason and catch up. I like to start a show, then pause it, and go do 12-15 minutes of chores. Then when I come back I can FF thru the commercials and get an "hour" of TV in 45 minutes.

Yeah, it seems to work really well for doing household chores during commercial breaks, especially since we dread doing them despite most of them only taking about 10 minutes. (If it takes more than ten minutes to unload the dishwasher, you've got a problem!) Plus you get a nice little reward for your effort!
